Wood-Mizer edgers, resaws and multirip saws
Machine centers that add capacity behind your headrig: EG and EA board edgers, HR band resaws, MR multirip and gang saws, and TVS twin vertical saws for small logs, sized to your logs, your products and your power.

Bailey's is a Wood-Mizer dealer for industrial systems.
Which machine do I need?
A machine center takes one job off the headrig so it can keep opening logs. Start with the work that holds your headrig up today.

Board edgers
6 models
A board edger takes the flitches and waney boards off the headrig, saws the bark edges off and squares them to width, so the headrig keeps opening logs instead of edging. Wood-Mizer’s EG edgers are set by hand or with setworks; its EA edgers scan each board and optimize it for volume and value.

Band resaws
7 models
A horizontal band resaw splits cants and thick boards into thinner stock with a thin band blade, so the headrig only has to open the log and square it. Each extra head takes another board off in the same pass, which is how a multi-head resaw raises output. Wood-Mizer’s HR resaws run from a single head to modular multi-head machines.

Multirip and gang saws
4 models
A multirip, or gang saw, rips a cant into several boards in one pass with a row of circular blades on one or two arbors. It suits mills that cut the same widths in volume, such as pallet stock and dimension lumber, and usually sits behind a headrig or a twin vertical saw.

Twin vertical band sawmills
4 models

Questions about edgers and resaws
Anything else, call a specialist at 1-888-465-8227.
What is the difference between a board edger and a resaw?
An edger works on a board’s width: it saws the waney, bark-covered edges off a flitch and squares it into a board. A resaw works on thickness: it splits a cant or thick board into thinner boards with a horizontal band blade. Many mills run both behind the headrig, the resaw taking cants and the edger taking flitches and sideboards.
Is a gang saw the same as a multirip?
Mostly, yes. Both rip a cant into several boards in one pass with a row of circular blades on one or two arbors. Wood-Mizer uses both names: it calls the MR200 a gang saw and the MR3000 and MR6000 multirip edgers. Some board edgers, such as the EG300 and EG350, also take extra blades and work as a small gang saw.
Can I add a resaw or edger to my existing headrig line?
Usually, yes. Wood-Mizer says its resaws and edgers run standalone or in a line, and that its material handling can be retrofitted to existing lines. What decides the fit is the size of the cants and flitches your headrig makes, the space and conveyors between machines, and your power. Tell us what you run now and where the bottleneck is.
Log decks and conveyorsWhat power do edgers and resaws need?
They are electric, and motors this size normally need three-phase service. Wood-Mizer lists, for example, 25 HP for the HR250 Super (230 V or 460 V, 60 Hz), 30 HP for the EG400, two 40 HP motors for the MR200 and two 100 HP motors for the MR6000; multi-head resaws add a motor for each head. Wood-Mizer’s US pages for the EG300, EG400 and HR700 list only a European 400 V 50 Hz supply, so confirm North American power with a specialist before you plan your electrical service.
What blades do these machines use, and who sharpens them?
Resaws and twin vertical saws run band blades; edgers, multirips and gang saws run circular blades. Wood-Mizer sells band blades for its HR resaws and lists the circular blade size each edger and multirip takes. Length, width and tooth profile vary by model, so ask a specialist which blades suit your machine and wood. Wood-Mizer’s listed band sharpeners and setters take blades up to 3 in wide; wider blades, such as the HR6000’s wideband blades, are outside them, so plan how those will be serviced.
How does quoting work?
Send the form or call 1-888-465-8227 with what you run now, your logs and species, the products you cut, the output you want and your site power. A specialist works out which machine center fits and how it connects to your line, then sends a written quotation that lists the machines, options and what is included. Heads, motors and options are chosen per order, so we quote each setup rather than publish a price list.
Is financing available?
Bailey’s offers equipment financing. See the financing page for current options, and ask a specialist whether the machine center you are quoted qualifies.
